Macro Monday: Into the Light

daffodil2

Isn't it a wonder that these big, sunny blooms were gathering down there in the dark earth, waiting there below the snow.

Shadow Shots: Yellow Roses

Yellow Roses

I liked the mottled texture of the metal and shadow-on-shadow effect on the wall.

So ... A salvaged bouquet of yellow roses drying in a salvaged, once-silver vase. What do you think about that - whimsical or sad?

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

May the lilt of Irish laughter lighten every load.
May the mist of Irish magic shorten every road.
May you taste the sweetest pleasures that fortune ere bestowed:

Lucky stars above you,
Sunshine on your way,
Many friends to love you,
And joy in work and play.
Laughter to outweigh your care
And in your heart a song.
And gladness waiting everywhere
All your whole life long.

Macro Monday & PhotoHunt: Spiral

Swirl

I've been looking for a reason to play with this string of shells I bought a few years ago in a bead shop. I love looking at them just as they are, and I couldn't bring myself to separate them for projects.

There used to be two strings of these. One set has mysteriously disappeared, and there are a few loose shells in the bowl. My kids still swear they know nothing. Gremlins got 'em, no doubt.

Shadow Soup

Tureen

I like the way the exterior of this tureen reflects the light, as if to protect the inky shade within.

Want. Not.

This poor woman's kitchen is awash in egg slime and her muffins (Oh God, not the muffins!) are ruined by shells! The horror!

Really? How hard is it to crack a freakin' egg?

Ya gotta love an over-engineered, overpriced, non-biodegradable hunk of imported plastic that solves a nonexistent problem.

Macro Monday: All That Remains

Snow Feather

I found this one tiny, downy feather lying alone on the snowy path in our woods. I wouldn't have noticed if not for the spark of red. A cardinal, I think, must have passed that way.

Shadow Shots: Lurking

Lurking in the Shadows

Gatsby, willing the window glass to magically disappear.

*P.S. Note the object of his desire - a bird out there on on the porch floor.

Macro Monday: We Are Saved

Look what happened this weekend: Pussywillow buds are opening! The snow is melting, too.

There is a God.
