Happy New Year!
I'm on my way outta town, and the hubby is waiting down in the driveway with the motor running. So I'm just popping in to wish you all a happy, healthy, wondrous, and amazing 2012!

PhotoHunt: Surprise

I was both surprised and delighted to spot these "fish out of water" swimming through a vacant lot in Santa Fe.

Shadow Shots: A Chair for Santa
They're subtle, but I love the shadow tracery and colors cast on my chair by the tree. Now, if I could just find the time to sit down.

Shadow Shots: Cushy

Go ahead. Have a seat -- if you dare.
Appropriately enough, this clever bench is a resting spot in a public aquarium. It looks comfy enough but the one raised arm is a bit disquieting, don't you think?
Many, many thanks to Tracy in Brisbane for hosting Shadow Shot Sunday all this time and many, many more to our new hosts who are carrying on at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Just click the link to join in the fun!

Macro Monday: Thirsty

This is the above-ground part of a plant growing in a botanical garden greenhouse. The whole thing looked like a half sphere the size of a volley ball, and it looked like something green probably shoots up out of it from time to time. I have no idea what it is (there wasn't a tag) but the texture fascinated me.

Shadow Shots: Sandcastle

The Aquarium and Botanic Garden in Albuquerque is a fascinating, kid-oriente place filled with wonderful, shadowy spaces - including a castle. One turret has a deep sand floor. I couldn't resist snapping a shot of this little guy enjoying the cool shade.

There are more shadows at HeyHarriet's. Stop by and see.
