Ruby Tuesday: Hummin' in the Rain

This little hummingbird perched for quite a while here, all fluffed up and fluttering his wings in the pouring rain. All he needed was a little shower cap and a tiny towel to complete the picture.

Sorry about the quality. I had to take this from a distance, through two panes of glass, and with a crummy background, but it was just too cute not to share.

Ruby Tuesday is a year old this week, and Mary has awarded some dandy prizes in honor of the occasion. Stop by and see what everyone found this time at The Work of the Poet.

Aw... what a sweet shot... wonderful red feeder for him to shower by too. They are difficult to catch, aren't they? Love you shadow shot down below too.

What a lovely bird feeder you got there!

I read that they sit for periods of time to digest because they have to eat so often. That and the ruby-throat males find and guard a feeding source even from females. I had to move my feeders around because one little guy was guarding two of them and would chase anything off..including me..LOL...

Ah what a cutie. I used to have a feeder just like that one, it was always their favorite.
