Round Robins: Looking Up

Robinella suggested the theme this time, and a great idea it is. We usually focus on what's right in front of us and miss all the cool things we'd see if only we'd look up now and then.

For example, this is the top of the S.J. Payne Building in Wabash Indiana. (This would be a great time to click the photo to see details!)

Is it not jaw-droppingly much?

Built in 1898, it housed a furniture and undertaking business. Apparently, this was a common combo back then, as the craftsmen could stay busy by knocking out a few chairs and sideboards in between the coffin orders. Practical, but creepy.

Hi!
Nice to see a fellow Hoosier! Beautiful building! I've probably see this and didn't even notice as I've been to Wabash. Actually live about 30 miles south of there. Have a great evening!

Creepy but practical. Nice, the brickwork is amazing with those old buildings. Great looking up!

Hi Vicki

What an interesting building with an even more interesting history! It's really quite lovely, but wouldn't it just be too weird to own a haunted couch or futon? Bwahahahahah... Oh Jason, Oh Grannnnnnt. LOL. Neat entry hon!

I love how perfectly square you lined the left side of the building up. Nice framing and the sky is perfect too.

Wow, I'm pretty sure I've been by that building! I've been to the Presbyterian Church in Wabash. I used to live in Oxford which is in Benton County not far from Layfayette. Anyway, it was good to see a bit of "home" even if it wasn't my town. :-)
