The sun came out for a little while today, but it was still only 17 degrees out. I opened the front door a crack, took afew quick shots across the welcome mat, and went back to my hunker-down spot by the fire.

Gorgeous shadow shots and, Oh, it does look COLD! Glad you could hunker down by the fire! That's surely where I would want to be!! Have a great weekend and stay warm!

Very cool shadow shots!
The weather has been quite COLD in the northern half of the US. Snow and frosty views at least leave a place for lovely and artistic shadows. Near the fire is the place to be these days...
Very nice. It also looks very familiar to what is outside my door! Have a great weekend!
Fabulous shot! It looks so artsy to me. I really, really like it!
Gorgeous shadow shots! I am now a follower of your blog.
My shadow shot, hope you can come by.
es, this is another favorite shadow shot of the day. the second photo I'm going back to again and again to stare at it. sometimes I think those are some of the best photos, the quick, almost spontaneous ones that we just "snap" and it's done. then when you sit down and look at what you've gotten, well, there's the raspberries. this is one of those. great shadow shot!
I love the top shot, the angles, and deeper shadows of the boards contrasting with the curves of the mat. Is that frost?! On the doormat?! Golly it looks cold.
These are cool! I like the sound of a hunker-down spot by the fire.
Hey sorry about the incorrect spelling with your link in the collage. I'm glad you realised and let me know about it. I discovered I made a boo boo with somebody else too! I'm good at making boo boos :)
Have a great week!
i'd stay by the fire place too, it looks so chilly. best viewed through a photo :D
So frosty...so beautiful...and yes, I'd be snuggling by the fire with a good book and some hot chocolate if that were the scene from my front door.

Hope your weekend has been treating you well.
I would go back in quick too! Beautiful shot.
IF SHADOWS COULD TALK
If shadows could talk,
Just what would they say?
If you listen close,
You’ll hear them, you may.
Shadows do chatter
And gossip and talk
In the store windows,
Along the sidewalk,
Over the mountains,
On prairie and plain,
Begging for sunshine
And not days of rain;
Emboldened by light,
The stark shadows say:
“We’re out for a lark,
Please join us at play!”
