Shadow Shots: Tribal Fire

Tribal Fire

Another shot from the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, a mysterious one in keeping with the season.

I loved the burners blazing in the night and black silhouettes casting long shadows, looking almost as if a pagan tribe had gathered round a magic fire.

That's the moon up above, and the red haze ... probably just camera flare. Or maybe a passing spirit?

It's always shadowy at HeyHarriet's. Stop by and see. You may want to bring a flashlight.

Oh, a magical shot indeed! I love it! I also love balloons and this one is so colorful! A ride in a balloon while in California several years ago was one of the most fun things I've ever enjoyed!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

This old world would be poorer indeed without such festivals to drive back the darkness!

SHADOW SHOW

Shadows creeping through the land,
Shadows dark on every hand—
If they should begin to glow,
You had better run, you know!

Nighttime shadows can be eerie in their gray shadows. However, the fiery balloon is brilliant in its orange hue, so both subject and shadow are stunning!

What a fine Halloween shot with all of its color and magical qualities. I thinks of hot air balloons in the summer and not the fall, but that is when we have the festivals here in Lexington. I know this one was a real treat for the eyes. Your capture of the moment is so nice. Happy Halloween...genie

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Ms Becky, they don't go up at night. They just inflate them and then everyone turns on the burners at once, making them all light up. The event is called a "Glow".

Paula, I was! Maybe we saw each other there and didn't even know it. You have an awesome 'hood. And yes, the weather was perfect.
