Shadow Shots: The Wedding
This shadowy shot was taken at my son's wedding ... and for those of you thinking "WTF?" - yes, that's a real airplane behind the head table. Thought you might enjoy some seeing how the "Wedding in a Hangar" turned out last week.
The place was packed for most of the night, so I had to wait until things had cleared out a bit to get these. We had our doubts about the venue, but once the professional lighting company got done with it it turned out to be quite a dramatic setting. Don't you think?
People were drawn outside to watch model airplanes equipped with LED lights do stunts against the backdrop of a full moon. Sadly, my photos of them didn't turn out, but I did get some decent ones of the biplanes: See those here.
Hope you've all been well - it's good to be back!

Very cool! Love the color of the lights!
The floor is shiny and it looks like folks are having a good time so - well done. :)
What a unique and memorable idea for a wedding!
Absolutely, hilarious!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the theme. The shadows and the reflections are wonderful.
Job well done.

I like airplanes (hence 'airhead'), I think the one with props on the left is a Merlin the jet a Hawker? At any rate, a hangar wedding reception is amazing, so different, so cool! I like how the executive can enter the airplane in any weather inside - that's the life! And that urethane coated floor - spotless! A great post!
An amazing venue for a wedding! How creative! And the lighting is so dramatic yet romantic! Delightful photos!
Ralph, I knew you'd enjoy this! And you're right, the plane on the left is a Merlin. The one on the right is a Cessna Citation Vll. The two biplanes are Stearmans. There was also a T-6 Texan parked outside. Wish you could have been there!
Thanks, everyone, for the kind words. I'm glad you liked these!
Gorgeous! Thanks for your beautiful contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday 2. - Rose
