Happy New Year!

Here's to new beginnings. We can use all of those we can get.

New Year's deserves to be more of a big deal than it turns out to be around our house. I can't seem to work up any enthusiasm among the troops, probably because there are no presents involved. If I didn't demand we observe the kiss, the toast, and the ball-drop in Time's Square, everyone would just go to bed early. This year I made it home from work just in time for the kiss/toast/ball-drop thing. And that was pretty much it.

New Year's at Times Square is on the list of Things I Want To Do Before I Die. So is seeing the sunrise from the Great Wall of China. And who knows? It is a new year, after all. Anything could happen.

When we were young, we rocked. Now that we're older, we're still rocking (where's the oil? This chair is squeaking.)
Keep on rocking and enjoy the new year, Vicki.
