I love stones. These particular ones are at Natural Stone Bridge in the Adirondacks, part of the oldest stone outcroppings in North America. We're talking old, as in a billion years.
The one in the first photo contains a little pool under a natural spring that trickles out of a mountain.
This second one is about three feet across and was trapped in a pothole during floodier times.

Wonderful photos. I'd love to see that place. A billion years old, just astounding.
Hi Vicki :)
Oh yes, my auntie has been telling me about Natural Bridges for years! She invited me once, but I was unable to go with her. It is on my list, however, as one of those MUST SEE places! Wonderful rock photos, I enjoyed seeing them very much!
Always, Carly
I like these..I was a rock hound as a kid back before video games...
I love these, especially the stone in the pool! Very nice!
I hadn't heard of these particular rock formations before -- I am learning so much today! Very neat pictures!
VERY COOL!
Ooh, I love the texture and detail and color on these when I click to see the full size versions. I'd love to see the Adirondacks again someday. They were just about my favorite place to vacation (mostly around Old Forge) when I was a kid.
