Macro Monday & PhotoHunt: Spiral

Swirl

I've been looking for a reason to play with this string of shells I bought a few years ago in a bead shop. I love looking at them just as they are, and I couldn't bring myself to separate them for projects.

There used to be two strings of these. One set has mysteriously disappeared, and there are a few loose shells in the bowl. My kids still swear they know nothing. Gremlins got 'em, no doubt.

Check out more macros and spirals at Lisa's Chaos: Macro Monday. and tnchick's place: Photo Hunt.

They are lovely and look so smooth. I imagine no two are quite the same, each unique like all of us.

My goodness, they are gorgeous, aren't they? I would be torn, too ... but I probably would separate them, because I can't see me wearing them in a string like that, lovely as they are. Too heavy for me.

LOVE it .. and I understand completely, I know I wouldnt want to separate them either ... gremlins .. indeed

They look almost like roses, the way the spirals wrap around.

I love the macro too. I think the world is so much more interesting when you take some time to look at it from way up close.

So, I have been through all the macro shots for this week, and I think that I like yours the best - great photo!

Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments!

Martha, you're right - each is unique. It's quite amazing, really, how much they differ.

Jay, I don't wear them. I pile the string into an alabaster bowl with egg-shaped stones and interesting seed pods.

Daryl, those gremlins have made quite a few things vanish around here.

Sally, I think so too. Macro is almost another reality, which is probably why I like it so much.

Bug, I'm so flattered! Thanks for stopping by.
