Happy Fathers' Day

Dream of Freedom

Thank you, Dad, for the gift of steadfast duty. You could so easily have left us, but you never did.

Thank you, Dad, for the gift of silence. When things got heated, you never rose to the bait. I strive to emulate your example.

Thank you for your service in war. You rarely spoke of it. I wish you had.

Thank you for the fishing trips, and for the quiet pride, and for thinking of us all before yourself.

I love you. I miss you. And how I wish I could be with you today.
