Friday Fences: Dockside in Cleveland

The William G Mather

We were in Cleveland recently to see the Tall Ships parade into the harbor for a festival there. The dock and park areas are surrounded by these massive pylon and chain fences. I just loved them.

The William G. Mather is permanently anchored there as a museum, next to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was a freighter in its day, and because the steel mills were frequent destinations it has been dubbed "The Ship That Built Cleveland". (Click here for more on the William G. Mather.)

OK, this next one is a seawall, technically not a fence. But I like the shot, so I'm tacking it on. Hope you all have a great weekend!

I forget that Cleveland is a port town but then I have never been there but I have ancestors who lived in Parma which is close, I think.
