Could two doors be more different? And yet here they are, side by side on the same old brick building. I always wonder what's behind door number one.
Below is the detail of the top of the old doorway. I think the texture looks like suns and galaxies in space.

Those are very different doors...I will take the green one to be safe.. LOL
Well they both offer some interest. I think they would cause me to take a second look for sure. Happy Ruby to you!
I much prefer the old one with its peeling paint and patina.
Nice capture of the contrast between the two.
Greta photo. Good eye!! I like photos like this.
I like that you noticed the details, it does look very nice with those galaxies. But I would probably do like ramblingwoods, chose no 2 for safety reasons;) Happy RT!
Really cool. What contrasts. That looks like a mailbox on door number one. Could it be that someone actually uses it? Enjoy RT.
What a difference in two doors! I would think that the owner would want to put at least a fresh coat of paint on the old ones to match the new :o)
Happy RT!
A very unique photo indeed. Love the contrast of both the colors and their design.
Nice spotting of contrasts. I think behind door number one is an old Chinese herbalist (it's that pagoda like trim on the top). It smells of stale ginseng and incense. He has chickens in back, he uses the eggs for his potions. It's dark and dingy but very magical the way light shines through the slats on dust motes and cobwebs.
what an interesting post!! I love the comparison and contrast
The two really do offer a fascinating juxtaposition. I too wonder what's behind door #1... It looks rather mysterious.
Terri, I love your imagination! What a great image for that strange, old door.
Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments!
Creative post. I think many people might have just walked on by without noticing these doors. Door #1 has more personality and stories to tell since it appears to be the door of experience. Door #2 is all dressed up with a sharp new coat of paint but it looks like so many other doors. In time I am sure it will develop its own personality and will have plenty of stories to share. Thanks for allowing my thoughts to ramble...enjoy your weekend!
Thanks, Deb! I like that... the door of experience. LOL I wonder what the other one will look like in 50 years or so?
