This is a photo I've used before, in color. It struck me as something that might be even better in sepia, and I think it actually is. This is the one-click AOL editor again, as I've been way short on time lately.

The color photo is beautiful but I think you're right, the sepia works even better. The monochrome really draws your eye right to the two girls. Great stuff.

What a perfect choice for sepia! I think I prefer the sepia version over the original. Wouldn't it make a lovely print?

I like that you posted both versions. I'm glad I don't have to decide between them, they're both great.
I'm not always biased toward monochrome, but I find that in a great many cases it does a better job of conveying feeling unless the colors are central to the emotion of the shot.
In this case, my knee-jerk reaction was to wonder what it would look like in black and white, but after a few seconds consideration I realized that the warmth of sepia toning was a good fit for the mood of the photo.
You have to start out with a good image though, and you nailed it with this one.
