Monochrome Weekly: Game Over

Nothing But Net

I love this old abandoned barn, waiting patiently for someone to come and play. Standing under the tattered net, you can almost hear faint echoes of laughter.

These are great. I always see children playing in my mind when I see abandoned basketball hoops. There are a few in my neighborhood where the children are all grow up and gone but the aging hoops remain. This one is particularly good being on an old barn. Great subject and shots.

I love this, the top one is just a perfect composition. It's hard not to wonder who used the hoop and what are they doing now.

Great pictures! I like the detail of the first, right down to the frayed ends of the cords.

I heard the cheers that rose above the last basket and carried the memories of every game played...

I liked the way you have cropped the first picture. Not everyone would have done it like that.

Days gone by.

With the fresh start of the college basketball season, this is a timely shot.

Well done indeed. I especially enjoyed the way you put the hoop into context. Love the texture of the siding.

Lovely and reminds me of the days long ago. After running through numerous rope nets, we finally put up a chain net. Probably would be still there if the pole and backboard were still around.
