Black and White: Enigma

2013_07_13_9999_2picbw

I spotted this from my upstairs home office window, and it seemed like a perfect excuse to put off doing paperwork.

It's the shadow cast by the sun shining through the chimney and side of our fire pit out on the deck. The effect lasted only a few minutes.

It looks mysterious and alien, don't you think?

Ah, if you learn how to look for shadows it is indeed the perfect excuse for not doing other things that are less fun!! I love your shadow shot for the day -- definitely worth the shot!! Hope your weekend is going well!!

it is a great shot. I like that it is possible to see the wood in both the sun as well as the shadow, :) Sure, it was a great exuose for a break. :)

Intriguing shadow pattern! At first I thought that it was a lampshade shadow! But then, what would a lampshade being going on a deck!

It does kind of look like a robot or something. My kids have been watching a lot of Doctor Who lately:)

I agree - a great and mysterious shadow. I love the textures of the wood, too.
