Round Robins: Variety Show

This week's Round Robin Photo Challenge brings us an assortment of assortments. This is mostly an assortment of stuff I salvaged from my grandmother's basement: Czechoslovakian pottery from the 1920s and ruined silver plate pieces from the turn of the century, housed in Granny's old china cabinet.

Click here to see what the other Robins have found!

P.S. I add seasonal stuff for fun.

Wow! That is truly amazing stuff. I would be so nervous around it. NLM was stationed in Germany for a couple of years and the European taste is so elegant. Great idea to add seasonal flavors. Good post!

Hi Vicki :)

Those dishes are so lovely, as is the cabinet. That's cheerywood, right? I have cherrywood all through my place, it's my favorite wood. Lovely choice for the challenge darlin.

Always, Carly

The collection is lovely, especially since it has remained in your family since granny. But I'm drooling over that lovely china cabinet. What a treasure.

Very nice! I love the old silver, offset by the white china. And the autumnal variation is very evocative as well!

Thanks, all, for commenting!

Carly, the cabinet looks like cherry in the small photo, but it's actually walnut. The larger one shows its true color; the small photo was taken before I found out about white balance. But yeah ... I love cherry too.

I think the shapes of the glassware are so elegant and classical! It's nice that you were the recipient of them -- I imagine they have a lot of sentimental value as well as being lovely.

What a treasure of a collection. I'd love to look at some of the pieces up close. :-)

Sorry I didn't get by sooner, I was away on vacation with limited computer time.
