Shadows: Merry Go Round

Merry Go Round 5

Found this outside a seedy discount store. The bleak, shadowy, concrete walkway and the forlorn little carousel were somehow eerie, like a portal into the Twilight Zone. The shot would have been better without the cage in the background, but what're ya gonna do.

You're right, you did capture that bleak, desolate feel of that scene. Great job.

Thanks for the comments about the eagle, wise words!

I agree with you about it being a little eerie. It's a fantastic shot with lovely crisp shadows. Nice shadow spotting there! Don't worry about the cage in the background...it looks fine to me and just adds a little something to the eerie feel of the image. Have yourself an awesome week ahead :)

It's the fate of nearly every mom/dad that sooner or later they're going to have to do the merry go-round. On a bad day, it's very bleak. On a good day, amusing. I like the photo. Happy SSS!

Love the shadow and I'm smiling at your description of the scene. I can just about hear Rod Sterling's voice ...."the innocent child's carousel stands silent as John Doe walks by the columns casting shadows on the sidewalk. He doesn't know he's about to enter that parallel universe we call The Twilight Zone."

The shadows in the foreground have interesting shapes. Yeah, too bad about the cage.
