This was one of those fleeting-moment shots, where the camera settings were all wrong but there wasn't time to fiddle with it. I reduced the saturation a bit and thought the effect was kind of interesting.
The shape of the boy's shadow struck me as bird-like, an echo of the geese in the park. And I imagined that he was on his way to deliver a bit more blue to the sky.

Excellent! The big blue ball makes the shot!
Fantastic! And I agree, the big blue ball does indeed make the shot! Terrific composition! Hope your weekend goes well! Enjoy!

The boy is looking for a pick-up game, the large blue orb a sort of ersatz soccer ball. Now to make up a couple of teams, he and his shadow one of them...
The best pictures often show up when least expected. Forget the settings, you captured the moment!
Such a winsome ShadowShot! Makes me want to approach the little fellow and ask if he wants a playmate. Happy SSS.
Wonderful shadow shot.
So beautiful!!
Can I invite you to join the meme I just launched? It is called Color Connection, you can just post anything with color of your choice. Hope you can join the fun. Thank you!
I like this shot, Vicki. The shadow has an interesting shape and I like the curve of the rail.
Or maybe he was going to play ball with the geese!
BE MY COMPANION
Come here, my shadow,
Do not delay;
Be my companion,
Show me the way;
Teach me your secrets,
Chant as we go
Of light and darkness—
Make my heart glow!

Shadows here and here
I like it...I never have the settings right..not even sure what they should be most of the time...lol...
I just adore how the shadow resembles a bird! What a fantastic capture! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
several things come together in this shot to make it superb. I love the curve of the rail, the color of the ball, how he's holding it, the position of his feet, and of course the shadow! this is a perfect capture. happy SSS!
Nice composition .. when the lack of time to compensate happens to me I slap on some effect like posterize in 'post production' ;-D
